This week, Gerry Delaney and our US intern Griffin DeNigris had the opportunity to attend the Vodafone Smart Business Show at the RDS in Dublin. The event ran on the 22nd and 23rd of April and hosted over one hundred and fifty exhibitor companies as well as more than seventy speakers.
The event was a great opportunity for networking, allowing exhibitors and attendees to form new business relationships. The workshops and speakers also presented a variety of topics that provided inspiration on better business practices, including ways technology is shaping the way that SME’s operate. There was a speak from Kendlebell on the first day of the show who delivered a talk in conjunction with “Small Businesses Can”, in which he described Kendlebell’s focus on delivering exceptional customer service.
Other notable keynote speakers included Fin Goulding, Chief Information Officer at Paddy Power, Brian Corish, Head of Digital at Vodafone, Brian Cody, Manager of the Kilkenny Hurling Team, and Julia Hobsbawm, the world’s first professor of networking. Each of these keynote speakers and the dozens of others in attendance at the show delivered insightful talks with messages that any SME could relate to, such as Brian Cody’s descriptions of the parallels between managing a hurling team and running a business. It was also very interesting to hear from huge companies known worldwide, like Brian Lavery of Twitter, and the way that using their social media platforms can benefit any business, no matter how big or small.
The Smart Business Show was a very inspirational event that demonstrated the entrepreneurial spirit of Ireland as a whole. It was great to hear the success stories of so many business people and Kendlebell looks forward to attending more of these events to keep abreast of new technologies within the business environment.
